Back to Earth Poetry Book

Back to Earth is a collection of confessional poetry and prose that tells the story of undertaking the journey from heartache to self-empowerment.

The book is divided into four chapters (Falling, Seeding, Rooting, and Sprouting), each reflecting the different phases of personal transformation, beautifully illustrated by Anamarie Rok.

In Back to Earth, Ana Juma joins the discussion of women’s reproductive rights and the importance of bringing mental health to the front line. Let this book be a reminder that you too can transform your deepest wounds into the greatest power.

[ CHAPTER 1 ]

Falling

While falling leaves clues, it’s inevitable. Adversity, in whichever shape or form, is part of the human experience. In the moment, it’s excruciating and emotionally challenging, but in retrospect, falling is the launchpad that accelerates your growth.

[ CHAPTER 2 ]

Seeding

he stage in your transformational journey where you allow yourself to sit with the discomfort of your own emotions. There are moments of despair when you wonder if you’ll ever see the light again, as there are moments of clarity and hope, trusting in your own nature to break through.

[ CHAPTER 3 ]

Rooting

Growing roots is about finding a tender place within where healing begins to spring. These are the moments when we need to double down on self-care, connect with nature, and cultivate nourishing relationships that feel like home.

[ CHAPTER 4 ]

Sprouting

To sprout is to break through the protective shield of the ground and try anew. This is when the cocoon cracks open, and the butterfly spreads her wings to experience life with fresh perspectives and an evolved sense of self. Adventure awaits.

Enjoy a Little Sneak Peak

There are sides of the self that no one knows about. Often we hide the vulnerable parts that aren’t as wise or put together. Yet, it’s when we break the silence that we can feel safe to recognize, integrate, and share their truth.

Writing (and publishing) this book was like medicine to me during a particular difficult season of my life.

Flip through the pages of Back to Earth and read some of the poems that were first written in my journal.

About The Author

Ana Juma is the author of Back to Earth and the founder of Prophsee, an independent book publishing house that brings together a community of creative minds to express themselves through journaling experiences.

Keeping a diary from a tender age has encouraged Juma to explore writing as a vehicle of self-discovery, expression, and healing. What started as a tool to make sense of her own emotional whirlwinds has become her full-time mission – finding her unique answers on paper and inviting people to do the same.
